Delete your Socket account
Last updated: October 14, 2026
App: Socket · Operator: Socket LLC, South Carolina · Contact: help@getsocket.app
Socket is the app. This page is public, so you can request deletion while signed out. You can delete the account inside Socket, or send the request by email. Both paths use the same 90-day grace period.
Delete the account in Socket
- Open Socket and sign in.
- Open Settings.
- Open Account.
- Choose Delete account.
- Confirm with your password. If 2-step login is on, enter that code too.
Your profile hides right away, and a 90-day grace period starts. During those 90 days, sign in and choose Cancel deletion and reopen. After 90 days the deletion is permanent. Socket emails you when you request deletion and again 7 days before it is final.
The same Account screen offers Deactivate account. Deactivate hides your profile, posts, Joltz, comments, and listings until you sign in and choose Reactivate your account.
Open SettingsRequest deletion by email
Email help@getsocket.app from the email address on your Socket account. Include the name on the account and say that you want the account deleted. Socket follows the same 90-day grace period, the same 7-day reminder, and the same removal of personal data.
Email help@getsocket.appWhat Socket removes
When the 90-day grace period ends, Socket permanently deletes or anonymizes personal data:
- Your name becomes "Deleted user."
- Email, phone, bio, photos, links, and location are cleared.
- Sessions and 2-step login are cleared.
- Message contents and files you uploaded are removed.
- Posts, Joltz, and comments are cleared.
- Your handle is free for someone else.
- Connections, follows, and Top 8 are removed.
- Subscriptions you pay, and subscriptions people pay you, stop when you request deletion. Signing in during the grace period leaves them stopped.
Socket finishes an open booking, an order you sold that has not shipped, an open dispute, or a payout still in progress, and then starts the deletion.
What Socket keeps
- Transaction and legal records stay for as long as the law requires. That includes Plug, order, tax, and payout records. Socket removes your name, email, and phone from those records.
- Timestamped rights agreements stay with the record. That is the date and terms version you accepted, and the time you confirmed you own or have the rights to an upload.
- A residual copy can remain in backups for a limited time.
